Rabat – Organizers of the music festival L’Boulevard in Casablanca issued a statement yesterday on their official Instagram account saying that they are taking the necessary steps in responding to the allegations of sexual harassment and rape incidents that took place during the festival.
In the Instagram post, the organizers said that “the association of Art and Culture EAC-L’Boulevard is taking seriously the online posts alleging that rape crimes took place during the festival on Friday, September 30.”
The post further explains that for “the time being, the association is taking the necessary legal steps and following the due process for such cases to launch an official investigation.”

The organizers said that they have dedicated a team to work with the authorities and “diligently” collect a comprehensive account of everything that had been posted online relating to the rape allegations.
Concluding the statement, the organizers underscored that they “strongly” condemn all forms of violence, gender discrimination, and harassment in all its forms.
The Casablanca music festival has been taking the internet by storm, but for the wrong reasons. What started as a celebration of Moroccan artists soon morphed into a social-media document of chaos that resulted in injuries among attendees.
With thousands of attendees, the free-of-change festival saw riots erupt amid overcrowding, according to reports.
Some people attending the festival lost consciousness as a result of the large gathering confined in the enclosed space of a stadium. Reports of theft and armed robbery also featured on the long list of alleged crimes that took place during the festival.
Following the event, people took to social media denouncing the event’s poor organization, protesting the open-for-all policy that had resulted in admitting people who were carrying weapons.
