Rabat – K-pop star and main vocalist of BTS Jungkook is set to take the stage at the FIFA World Cup 2022 opening ceremony in Qatar.
BTS first made the official announcement on November 12, saying that Jungkook would also feature in the official soundtrack of the World Cup.
In a tweet, BTS wrote: “Proud to announce that Jungkook is part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Soundtrack and will perform at the World Cup opening ceremony. Stay tuned!”

Jungkook joins a long list of international artists set to perform at the world’s biggest football event.
The K-pop singer and performer is the youngest member of his band BTS. At only 25, Jungkook is already making his way as a successful solo singer after becoming famous with the band for hit tracks such as “Butter” and “Dynamite.”
His outstanding performance put him among the biggest stars in the K-Pop industry and on the global stage as he is one of the world’s best-known musicians of the era.
The young K-Pop artist broke the record for the most simultaneous views on the South Korean video streaming platform “V Live” in 2021 when his stream attracted 22 million viewers.
He also broke the record for getting the highest number of retweets in 2019 and 2021, according to a report from celebrity-focused outlet Soompi.
