Rabat – Morocco on Tuesday signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with Capgemini Engineering Morocco, a leading engineering consulting group, with the aim of creating more job opportunities in the country.
The agreement is set to pave the way to create 1,500 additional jobs in the engineering sector by 2026, Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour said in a statement.
The “investment embodies the growing confidence in Moroccan skills and confirms the attractiveness of the Kingdom as a technological and engineering destination of choice for outsourcing,” Mezzour added.
Managing Director at Capgemini Engineering Morocco Idriss Elasri indicated that the two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) are set to support the “strong growth” of the company’s engineering activities in Morocco.
Elasri added that the agreement would create 1,500 additional jobs in Capgemini Engineering’s “cutting-edge fields,” by “preparing talents and mobilizing the ecosystem.”
He noted that Capgemini Engineering group is the “first player” in the technology and Information Technology sector in the North African country, comprising 5,300 talents.

The company created 900 job opportunities in Morocco this year, Elasri added, stressing that Capgemini Engineering is the largest recruiter of engineers and scientists in the North African country.
Founded in 1982 by Frenchmen Alexis Kniazeff and Hubert Martigny, Capgemini Engineering is a global leader in engineering and Research and Development (R&D) services. Previously known as “Altran,” the company was rebranded in 2019 to take on the parent company’s name, Capgemini.
Even though Morocco possesses significant human capital, the country’s retention of skilled talent remains problematic, particularly regarding engineers.
The director of a Moroccan Development Institute Hamida Benmlih has indicated that over 600 Moroccan engineers move abroad every year, seeking better working conditions and higher salaries.
