Rabat – The special bond of friendship between Morocco’s two star players Achraf Hakimi and Hakim Ziyech was highlighted yesterday by the football federation FIFA.
In a tweet on their official account, FIFA wrote: “ you are my friend ???. We laugh together ? and cry together ?. We supported each other ❤️”
Attached to the tweet were two pictures of Hakimi and Ziyech sharing special moments in the World Cup.

During this year’s tournament, the two footballers alongside other Atlas Lions have dazzled audiences with their world-class performance.
Morocco currently stands to play in the Round of 16 for the first time in 36 years. The Atlas Lion’s recent gains in the World Cup are turning into national pride, as national football coach Walid Regragui is gaining more popularity and is praised for the team’s outstanding performance.
During the first stage of the FIFA World Cup, Morocco proved a tough opponent, qualifying for the next round on top of Group F. In the first three games, Morocco drawed 0-0 against Croatia, scored a staggering 2-0 win against Belgium, and another impressive 1-2 win against Canada.
The team is set to face Spain in their first game of the Round of 16 on December 6.
