Rabat – FC Barcelona has officially submitted an offer to Borussia Dortmund, waiting on their approval to bring the German player Karim Adeyemi, who is in the final years of his deal with BVB.
According to Mundo Deportivo, sources close to the player told them that one year from the end of his contract, his priority is FC Barcelona, and he doesn’t want to renew his deal.
“Negotiations are advanced, negotiations underway for days, Barcelona are on the verge of finalizing the deal,” Gerard Romero reported on Jijantes.
“The club has been working silently for days with Adeyemi’s agent, Jorge Mendez, to set the deal as they did with Anthony Gordon’s transfer; the deal may be finalized in the next few days,” he added.
Adeyemi is represented by Gestifute, the agency of the super agent Jorge Mendes, who’s already managing a lot of Barcelona players, such as Lamine Yamal, Balde, Casado, and has a strong relationship with Barcelona’s officials, which could facilitate his move to the Catalan giant.
Barcelona’s coach, Hansi Flick, is a huge admirer of Adeyemi and has personally requested him, as he believes in his dribbling abilities as well as the explosive pace that characterizes him, making the German international the best replacement for the expected departure of Roony Bardghji.
Flick handed Adeyemi his first international game with Germany against Armenia, where he scored the 6th goal, marking his first international debut.
“The possible arrival of Adeyemi would not stop the signing of Julian Alvarez,” Romero said to clarify any ambiguity.
Over the last four seasons with BVB, the 24-year-old Dortmund winger made 146 appearances, scoring 36 goals and providing 25 assists. He played for Germany’s national team 11 times, where he scored a single goal against Armenia under Flick’s leadership.
Before Dortmund, Adeyemi was a Red Bull Salzburg player in the Austrian side, where he featured in 94 games, scoring 33 goals and giving 24 assists.
This expected transfer would be Barcelona’s second transfer after Anthony Gordon, highlighting a strong summer transfer debut to the Catalan side.
