Rabat- Moroccan airports received nearly 18,500,000 passengers during the first eleven months of this year, according to the National Airports Office (ONDA).
ONDA further reported a recovery rate of 80%. The recovery rate reflects a gradual return to normal tourist visits since Morocco reopened its airspace in February.
“Morocco’s airports continue to show increased recovery rates in comparison to the same period in 2019, hosting 80% of passengers and 82% of airport movements,” ONDA said in a statement.
The statement added that “Moroccan airports received 18,467,415 passengers, while airport movements recorded 157,687.”
During November, Morocco’s airports hosted nearly 2 million passengers, marking a 96% recovery rate compared to 2019.
Meanwhile, airport movements reached 15,341 in the same period recording a recovery rate of 92%, the same source detailed.
The country’s leading aerial infrastructure, Casablanca-Mohammed V airport hosted almost 7 million passengers via more than 60 thousand flights, during the first eleven months of this year, reaching a recovery rate of 72% compared to 2019.
ONDA further indicated that domestic air traffic saw positive results in comparison to 2019, with close to 2 million passengers and a 71% recovery rate from January to November.
Additionally, International air traffic recorded 1.7 million passengers in November noting a recovery rate of 99% compared to 2019.
