Rabat – Morocco’s Atlas Lions have another memorable event today following their return from Qatar.

Thousands of fans lined up across the streets of Sale and Rabat this evening, marking the passage of a convertible bus that carried Moroccan football players and the country’s delegation that took part in the FIFA 2022 World Cup.

The fans have been spread across several stops that the bus crossed while heading to Morocco’s Royal Palace in Rabat.

The bus passed through different stops across the Rabat-Sale region, including Hassan II Street, November 16 Square, Chellah Square, King Hussein Square,  Mohammed V Street, Barid Square, Mohammed V Square, January 11 Square, Moulay El Hassan Street, and Bab As Sufara.

Wearing fancy dark suits, the Atlas Lions certainly felt a different kind of joy to finally meet the fans who followed their World Cup matches with bated breaths.

Morocco’s authorities decorated Rabat with flags, which were also used by football fans as a cape or to wave during the welcome ceremony.

Throughout the bus journey, the footballers were seen dancing, waving, and sharing smiles and laughter with fans who spared no effort to show how proud they are of the Atlas Lions.

Some fans chose to climb trees or anything that could make them closer to the top of the bus to share their excitement more directly with the stars.

Other fans, meanwhile, chose to go to rooftops to witness a panoramic vision of the festivities.

The Atlas Lions also had the opportunity to listen to the different slogans that fans have been chanting throughout the World Cup either in Qatar or in cafes across Morocco and streets to celebrate every win the national team clinched during the competition.

The chants included slogans such as “Dima Maghrib”(Morocco forever) and the famous “Sir…Sir…Sir” (Go).

Some fans chose to show how happy they are through music. Many folklore music bands also participated in the festivities to welcome the Atlas Lions.
