Rabat- Premier League club Leeds United is reportedly interested in signing Abdelhamid Sabiri, the Moroccan footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Serie A club Sampdoria.
Italian Sports Websites Club Doria 46 wrote recently: “In this transfer market, Sampdoria aims to raise cash with Abdelhamid Sabiri while he is of interest to Leeds United.”
The report added that the head coach of Leeds United, Jesse Alan Marsch did not hide his interest in Sabiri.
Sampdoria may sell the midfielder for a price of at least €10 million (MAD 110 million) due to its current financial situation.
Additionally, Leeds United is looking to fill its midfield position as its midfielder Kalvin Phillips moved to Premier League champions Manchester City in July.
Italian sports outlet SN24 also reported that the Italian professional football club Fiorentina offered to sign the sought-after midfielder for €5 million (MAD 55 million) fee.
Meanwhile, Spanish football club Real Betis is also interested in signing the Sampdoria midfielder.
Sabiri scored a very impressive goal against Belgium during the World Cup.
The sought-after midfielder’s market value is estimated at €4 million (MAD 44 million), according to Transfer Market.
Sabiri performed admirably throughout the 2022 World Cup, playing a part in Morocco’s historic achievement of becoming the first Arab and African nation to advance to the semi-finals of the global tournament.
In addition to Sabiri, other Moroccan football players‘ outstanding performances at the FIFA World Cup have captured international attention and piqued the interest of major football leagues.
Paris Saint-Germain [PSG] have the Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat on their wishlist and other several Premier League clubs are also reportedly interested in signing the sought-after midfielder.
