Rabat – French football club Montpellier is reportedly in talks with Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca in a bid to reach an agreement over signing a deal with Yahia Attiyat Allah.

Montepellier is interested in signing the football player, who made spectacular performances during Morocco’s 2022 World Cup run in Qatar, converging reports said.

Get French Football News, however, stressed that there is no “contractual agreement between the club and the player” as Wydad Casablanca wants to keep the Atlas Lion for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

The global tournament will take place in Morocco in February.

The FIFA Club World Cup draw put Morocco’s Wydad up against Saudi club Al Hilal last week.

Attiyat Allah along with many other Atlas Lions made brilliant performances that put them on the radar of giant football clubs.

In addition to the Wydad’s football star, Sofyan Amrabat has been linked to talks of transfer deals, particularly offers from Liverpool and Atletico de Madrid.

Responding to the transfer rumors, Italian club Fiorentina said that its Moroccan midfielder is not for sale.

“I can confirm that Sofyan Amrabat and Nico Gonzalez are not for sale,” CEO of Fiorentina Joe Barone said in response to rumors.

Amrabat has recently shown interest in the Spanish football club and said that he admires Atletico de Madrid’s coach Diego Simeone.

“He has coached Atletico Madrid for many years… I like his style of play. He has gained a lot and I have a lot of respect for him. The players on his team are physically strong and aggressive. I like to play that way,” he said.

Morocco’s national team’s market value increased by 77.2% following the Atlas Lions’ stellar performance during the 2022 World Cup.
