Reports of Paris Saint Germain-Chelsea negotiations on Morocco’s international football star Hakim Ziyech are no longer rumors.
PSG head coach Christophe Galtier has confirmed that the French club is indeed negotiating a deal with Chelsea for Ziyech.
“This information came out, yes the club is working on the Hakim Ziyech deal but today, as I speak to you, he is a Chelsea player,” Galtier said.
Tweeting Galtier’s confirmation earlier today, Fabrizio Romano commented that “the two clubs are discussing on the formula of the deal.”
Several converging reports had linked Ziyech to a potential move to PSG ahead of the deadline of the January transfer window.
Several Premier League clubs are intent on wrapping up the January Transfer Deadline Day with last-minute deals.
If Ziyech’s transfer is confirmed, he will be joining his Atlas Lions teammate Achraf Hakimi who has been trimpuhing a key player for the French club alongside iconic players such as Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
Although negotiations are still ongoing, some converging reports have indicated that Chelsea has allowed Ziyech to visit Paris to undergo his medical tests prior to his signing with the French club.
According to the website Foot Mercato, Ziyech will join PSG once an agreement is reached between the Blues and the French club following his medical test.
Ziyech joined Chelsea from Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam in 2020 for a fee of €40 million.
