Rabat – Morocco’s Minister of Culture, Youth, and Communication Mehdi Bensaid announced on January 21 that this year’s International Book and Print Fair (SIEL), will be held in Rabat’s OLM Souissi starting on June 1-11.

The minister noted in a press release that the publishing houses, bookstores, as well as institutions interested in participating in the event should register on SIEL’s website between January 23 and March 1.

This year marks the 28th edition of the SIEL. Details about the program have yet to be revealed.

Morocco’s 2022 international book fair was a huge success, with over 202,000 visitors.

The 2022 SIEL featured 712 exhibitors from 55 countries, with a documentary collection totaling 100,000 titles and two million copies covering all disciplines.

It also saw the participation of prominent figures from the cultural, political, and economic sectors, with African literature taking center stage.

Approximately 380 speakers participated in conferences, round tables, new publication presentations, and poetic evenings organized as part of the international book fair.
