Rabat – As interest in signing Moroccan player Azzedine Ounahi builds, converging reports have pointed to AC Milan joining the list of at least three other clubs looking to sign the Angers player.
Ounahi has caught the eye of major clubs after his impressive run at the 2022 World Cup tournament, where he helped Morocco make history by being the first African and Arabic-speaking country to reach the semi-finals of the global tournament.
The other two Premier League clubs that have expressed interest in signing Ounahi have not yet been named, according to Sky Sports.
In addition to the rumors about AC Milan’s interest in the Moroccan midfielder, Napoli has also been showing signs of wanting to recruit Ounahi for the summer.
Ounahi would make a good addition to AC Milan’s team as the side does not have a third option for their starting double pivot.
The Moroccan player is currently valued at 15 million euros according to Transfer Markt. The 22-year-old midfielder has a “very strong” hold on the ball and “strong” dribbling skills as well as a strong contribution to defense, according to Who Scored, a football statistics website
Ounahi currently plays for Angers, a top-tier French league club with a total market value of 76.40 million euros.
Amid major European clubs’ increased interest in signing Ounahi, the president of Angers FC Said Chabane has noted that although he would love to keep the Moroccan midfielder, it is now becoming increasingly hard to do so.
