Rabat – Morocco’s Minister Delegate in charge of National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi and Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) Belkhir El Farouk on Tuesday received UK Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region Martin Elliot Sampson.
Sampson held high-level meetings with the two Moroccan officials, respectively, during which they discussed ways to strengthen defense cooperation and promote regional peace and stability.
Loudyi received the British senior Royal Air Force officer at the headquarters of the National Defense Administration; the two officials expressed their satisfaction with the strong ties that unite the two kingdoms.
The pair also expressed their mutual commitment to further strengthen the centuries-old ties, Maghreb Arab Express (MAP) quoted FAR’s statement as saying.

They also discussed regional security, notably in Europe, the MENA region, and Sahel, emphasizing the need of Morocco and the UK to boost defense cooperation in this regard to achieve regional stability.
In addition, Sampson and Loudyi praised Morocco’s key role and efforts in promoting peace and stability in the MENA region, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.
On the same day, the British defense advisor held a meeting with Lieutenant General El Farouk at the headquarters of the Royal Armed Forces in Rabat, during which they described Morocco-UK relations as “historic, dynamic, expectional, and based on friendship and mutual trust.”
The two officials also touched on the several areas of cooperation between the two countries’ respective armed forces, including training, exchange of knowledge and expertise, as well as organizing bilateral army exercises, such as “Jbel Sahara” exercise.
