Morocco Launched a Solidarity Campaign for Populations Affected by Cold Snap
A significant drop in temperature has been affecting several provinces across Morocco over the past few weeks.
Following the weather alert indicating heavy snowfall in a number of provinces in Morocco last week. King Mohammed VI launched a solidarity campaign for populations exposed to the severe drop in temperatures in the Atlas mountains range.
Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity will spearhead the initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and local authorities to mobilize the necessary human capital to deliver humanitarian aid to families residing in villages and remote areas.
Despite the humanitarian concerns the weather raises, news of heavy snowfall and even floods come as a pleasant change from last’s year drought. Moroccans are optimistic that the return of the rain will relieve some of the concerns surrounding water shortage and agriculture yield this year.
