The Senegalese official noted that the visit reflects the deep friendship and close cooperation that unites the two countries.
The Moroccan Ambassador to Mali Hassan Naciri told the Senegalese press agency APS that this visit marks the monarch’s ninth visit to Senegal and he described it as a “work and friendship visit.”
Naciri stressed that the visit is a renewed pledge of loyalty to the unique relationship between the two countries.
The Moroccan ambassador highlighted that the visit will serve as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation in different areas, multiply security, and find solutions to economic and social challenges.
In his remarks, the ambassador noted that Senegalese and Moroccans have long supported each other.
In 2021, Senegal opened its consulate general in the southern city of Dakhla, Morocco. The opening reflected Senegal’s constant support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over Western Sahara.
Earlier this month, King Mohammed VI met Gabon’s President Ali Bongo Ondimba in Libreville and made a donation of 2,000 tonnes of fertilizer to Gabonese farmers.
The meeting also served as an opportunity to highlight the importance of the “deep, rich, and solidly rooted relations between Morocco and Gabon,” as well as the “strong bonds of brotherhood and solidarity between the two nations.”
