Rabat – Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has confirmed that Moroccan international Ismael Saibari will feature against Borussia Dortmund in Saturday’s German Super Cup.
Kompany praised Saibari’s qualities ahead of the clash, highlighting the midfielder’s physical strength, pace and ability to finish attacks.
“Ismaël Saibari has a lot of strength and speed, and he is also good at finishing,” Kompany said, according to Bayern Munich’s official account on X.
However, the Belgian coach stressed that Saibari is still returning from injury and his playing time will therefore be managed.
“It is important that he develops an understanding with his teammates. He will have a role tomorrow, but he is coming back from injury, so we will see how many minutes he can play,” Kompany said.
Kompany also underlined the importance of the German Super Cup, insisting that Bayern are aiming to win every available trophy.
“I don’t distinguish between the importance of trophies. In the end, your goal is to win them all. It is a final tomorrow,” he said.
The Bayern coach added that player fitness will determine his decisions during the match, with possible substitutions depending on how the players respond physically.
Saibari is expected to be an important part of Bayern’s plans this season, with Kompany stating that the Moroccan midfielder “will be an important player for us.”
The Super Cup clash against Borussia Dortmund will offer Saibari an opportunity to make his mark as he continues his return to full fitness.
