Rabat – Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses defeated their Slovakian counterparts 3-0 in a friendly match played this Friday in Turkiye.

Rosella Ayan scored the first goal, and a few minutes after the start of the second half, FAR player Fatima Tagnaout added the national team’s second goal.

The Moroccan team dominated the second half of the game, delivering an outstanding performance that yielded a third goal for the team.

The match is part of the team’s preparation in Turkiye’s Antalya ahead of this year’s Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Also in preparation for the World Cup, Morocco’s women’s national team will play a second friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina on February 21.

In the draw for the Women’s World Cup, Morocco’s team was placed in Group H, alongside Germany, Colombia, and South Korea.

The team made history this year, qualifying for the first time for the Women’s World Cup after beating Botswana 2-1 in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) quarter-finals.
