Rabat – Morocco’s national carrier Royal Air Maroc announced on Monday it will provide 6.2 million seats on 90 air routes globally for its summer 2023 program.
In a press release, Royal Air Maroc stated that it has strengthened its flight program on most of its destinations to meet strong demand for its flights during a “positive context” characterized by a “good recovery of business travel and tourism.”
The increase is due to the reopening of various routes that were closed during the COVID-19 crisis, as well as the opening of new routes such as Tel Aviv and Dubai, the company explained.
Royal Air Maroc has made available more than 2.3 million seats for flights in Europe, with 902 weekly flights connecting 11 Moroccan airports to 34 European destinations.
As a pan-African carrier serving the African diaspora, Royal Air Maroc is also strengthening its continental network, which will increase to 26 air routes with an offer of 901,800 seats.
The airline is additionally set to provide 500,000 seats in North America and 200,000 seats on its Middle East routes, respectively a 6% and 25% increase compared to summer 2019.
Six additional routes between northern Morocco and Europe
Royal Air Maroc will also strengthen the ten regular air routes linking the northern Moroccan cities of Tangier, Nador, and Oujda to European cities by offering six new direct air routes linking these three Moroccan cities to Europe.
The airline will introduce three new direct flights linking Tangier to Madrid, Barcelona, and London. It will also add two direct routes connecting Nador to Madrid and Barcelona.
Meanwhile, a new direct flight will connect Oujda with Dusseldorf, western Germany.
Air routes where large communities of Moroccans from around the world reside and which experience high demand in summer, will be strengthened, the company added.
The lines connecting Casablanca to Barcelona, Bologna, Malaga, Madrid, Brussels, and Milan, will have two flights daily.
To strengthen its own resources and ensure the launch of this program in the best conditions, Royal Air Maroc noted that it will charter six aircraft from internationally renowned companies.
“At a time when our sector is recovering a very positive dynamic, making this summer of 2023 a success in terms of operational efficiency and quality of service is a major challenge for all of Royal Air Maroc’s staff,” said Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc.
He added that RAM’s staff are equipping themselves with the necessary resources to satisfy the demands of all customers through a significant increase in “capacity” and a continuously “improved customer experience.”
