Rabat – The Korean Embassy in Morocco has announced that the “Korea Culture Week 2023” will take place on April 28 and 29 at the Anfa Park in Casablanca, an opportunity for the Moroccan public to discover the “richness” of Korean culture.

The organizers of the event promise an “immersive and spectacular” experience for all visitors. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of performances and booths reflecting various aspects of the East Asian country’s culture, indicated a press release.

The festivities will begin on Friday, April 28 at 3:00 pm, with an opening ceremony featuring Korea’s Ambassador to Morocco Keeyong Chung. It will also include speeches by guests of honor Mayor of Casablanca Nabila Rmili and President of the National Museums Foundation Mehdi Qotbi.

Following the opening ceremony, visitors will be able to enjoy a “captivating” musical performance of Samul nori, traditional Korean percussion.

The second day of the event will feature a K-pop festival, which will begin at 4:30 pm. It will include the “K-pop Random Play Dance,” which involves collective dancing to random K-pop songs.

The event will feature a variety of other activities organized by the Korean community in Morocco, including Korean food tastings, mobile games, K-beauty makeup sessions, and Korean calligraphy.

The activities will also include a photo area for Moroccans to try on Hanbok, a traditional Korean outfit.

The Korean Embassy in Morocco invites all visitors interested in Korean culture to attend the open-to-the-public event, stressing that it will enable Moroccans to “discover the different aspects of Korea in greater depth.”

The Korea Culture Week will “undoubtedly contribute to strengthening the bond” that has united Morocco and Korea, and their peoples, for more than 60 years, concluded the statement.
