Join on Telegram Rabat – American actor Robert de Niro arrived in Marrakech today to inaugurate his luxury Nobu hotel, in the Hivernage neighborhood of Morocco’s red city.
Renowned Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa and American director Meir Tepper, who are co-founders of the hotel chain, have been reported to also be part of the inauguration.
The hotel was opened back in January, marking the prestigious Nobu brand’s first entrance into the Moroccan market.
The hotel features 71 luxurious suites and a world-class restaurant, in addition to a bar, a Nobu sushi bar, and a rooftop area with a panoramic view and pool. The hotel’s “Pearl Spa” is one of the largest among the chain’s facilities.
The hotel’s interiors are a blend of Nobu’s Japanese aesthetic and the iconic heritage of Marrakech’s buildings.
The premises are also located near some of Marrakech’s most visited landmarks, including the Jemaa el Fna Square and the Koutoubia Mosque.
The hotel offers penthouse rooms that offer wraparound views of the Atlas Mountains and private bars, as well as deluxe suites with rates that start at MAD 5,000 ($500) per night.
The hotel also boasts a unique culinary experience, offering the guests “the latest trends” of Japanese cuisine infused with local inspirations.
Back when the hotel opened in January, the group released a statement saying that the project reflects ambitions from the country’s King Mohammed VI to boost tourism in the country.
