Rabat – Hollywood icon and co-founder of luxury hotel chain Nobu Hospitality Robert De Niro is expected to visit Marrakech on Thursday for the inauguration of the Nobu Hotel, along with renowned Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa and American director Meir Tepper.

According to a report from Moroccan news outlet Le360, the official inauguration by De Niro follows the opening of the hotel in January.

The upcoming grand opening will feature a dedicated ceremony, complete with a press conference where the co-founders will share their vision for the hotel.

Located in Marrakech’s prestigious Hivernage district, known as the “Golden Triangle,” the Nobu Marrakech Hotel marks the brand’s first venture in Morocco.

The premises feature 71 luxurious suites, a world-class restaurant, and a stylish Nobu bar, the hotel also offers a panoramic rooftop area with a pool, restaurant, and sushi bar.

Notably, it houses the Pearl Spa, one of the largest spa facilities among the Nobu hotels.

The interiors of Nobu Hotel Marrakech are a blend of the building’s heritage and Nobu’s modern Japanese aesthetic.

The new hotel is a short stroll away from Marrakech’s most iconic tourism destination, Jemaa el Fna Square, and is in close proximity to the Koutoubia Mosque.

For luxury-seeking visitors, the penthouse rooms also offer wraparound views of the Atlas Mountains and feature private bars. Guests can also opt for deluxe suites, with rates starting at around MAD 5,000 ($500) per night.

The Nobu Hotel Marrakech restaurant promises a culinary experience to remember. The hotel offers guests “the latest trends” in Japanese cuisine, infusing it with local inspiration.

To celebrate the opening, Nobu Hotel Marrakech is offering an exclusive retreat for six guests, providing them with the opportunity to experience penthouse living.

The hotel’s extensive facilities include three swimming pools and an expansive spa, spanning approximately 2,000 square meters with 14 treatment rooms. The spa is one of the largest in Marrakech.

In an earlier statement marking the January opening, the Nobu Hotels team emphasized that the project aligns with King Mohammed VI’s aspirations to boost tourism in Morocco.

Nobu Hotels equally expressed delight in entering the market during this exciting time and contributing to the country’s thriving hospitality industry.
