Female Students Score the Highest Grades in Morocco’s Baccalaureate Exam

Morocco recently announced the results of its national baccalaureate exams, indicating a pass rate of 63.83% for girls and 54.89% for boys. A group of exceptional Moroccan students emerged as the top scorers in various regions across the country, with female students prominently dominating the highest grades.

Female Students Score the Highest Grades in Morocco's Baccalaureate Exam

Rabat – Morocco recently announced the results of its national baccalaureate exams, indicating a pass rate of 63.83% for girls and 54.89% for boys. A group of exceptional Moroccan students emerged as the top scorers in various regions across the country, with female students prominently dominating the highest grades.

According to data shared by the National Company of Radio and Television (SNRT), Aicha Baajin, hailing from the town of Dakhla, secured the highest average in mathematical sciences in the Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region.

Her remarkable achievement placed her at the forefront in the region, boasting an average of 18.28 out of 20.

In the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region, Hiba Qasimi stood out by attaining the highest average in the physical sciences branch. Qasimi’s secured the top position in the region, with an impressive average of 19.51.

Similarly, in the Casablanca-Settat region, Chaimaa El Bahioui excelled in the physical sciences branch, French option, achieving the highest average among her peers. El Bahioui secured the top spot in the region with an exceptional average of 19.52.

In the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region, Siham Kebbar achieved the highest average in the physical sciences branch, also under the French option. Kebbar secured the first position in the region with an average of 18.40.

In total, 245,109 students successfully passed Morocco’s national baccalaureate exams this year, as announced by the Ministry of Education earlier today. This figure encompasses students from both public and private schools who sat for the exams earlier this month.

The overall number of candidates who obtained the baccalaureate diploma increased by 14,000, indicating a 6% rise compared to the previous year. Additionally, there was an increase of 18 candidates who sat for the exam this year compared to 2022, as reported by the ministry.

Moreover, the ministry celebrated the accomplishments of students with disabilities, highlighting that 838 students in this category successfully passed the exam, representing an impressive pass rate of 73%. 

Looking ahead, approximately 189,234 students will be sitting for retake exams scheduled to take place next month, specifically from July 5 to 8. 

The ministry plans to release the results for the retake exams on July 13, providing an opportunity for these students to improve their scores and secure their baccalaureate diplomas.
