Rabat – Morocco’s King Mohammed VI sent a letter of congratulations to the UK’s King Charles III for the occasion of his first birthday parade of the year, also referred to as “Trooping the Colour.”

The Moroccan monarch also expressed “pride” in the ties between the two countries, as well as their two royal families, as well as in the “close and fruitful cooperation between our two friendly countries.”

Like other British monarchs, King Charles III celebrates two birthdays a year, with the first parade in June being called “Trooping the Colour.”

This year marked the new monarch’s first ever Trooping the Colour, which he took part in on horseback.

King Charles III was only crowned in May, with Morocco’s Princess Lalla Meryem attending the ceremony in London to represent the country.

King Mohammed VI congratulated the UK monarch, wishing him and the newly crowned Queen Camilla “a most prosperous reign, and the people of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland further progress and prosperity.”

Charles III took reign after his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away in September 2022, being the longest reigning monarch in Britain’s history.
