Rabat – In a significant move for Moroccan football and tourism, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and Morocco’s National Tourism Office (ONMT) have joined forces through a partnership agreement that aims to promote Morocco as a premier football destination from 2023 to 2030.
President of the FRMF Fouzi Lekjaa and Head of Morocco’s Tourism Office (ONMT) Adel El Fakir signed the agreement at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Sale on June 7.
The collaborative partnership between the FRMF and the ONMT aims to leverage football as a catalyst to promote Morocco as a vibrant tourist destination while enhancing the country’s image as the “Land of Light” and the “Land of Football.”
This alliance seeks to highlight Morocco’s capability to organize major sporting events, including the recent Club World Cup in Rabat and Tangiers, as well as future continental and global competitions.
This partnership serves as a testament to the momentum generated by Morocco’s joint bid with Spain and Portugal to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
By integrating the football dimension into forthcoming ONMT campaigns, the FRMF and the ONMT strive to elevate the status of football and position Morocco as an attractive destination both domestically and internationally.
The ONMT commits to supporting the FRMF in promoting sports tourism in Morocco while integrating the national teams into various communication tools produced by the ONMT.
Additionally, the FRMF pledges visibility rights to the ONMT as an official partner, ensuring exposure during football matches through screens, billboards, digital platforms, and other communication channels.
To further enhance visibility, the FRMF will incorporate ONMT branding on training shirts, tracksuits worn by national selections, and additional pitch-side advertising.
This multi-faceted approach aims to capitalize on Morocco’s football achievements under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, bolstering the Federation’s strategy of showcasing Moroccan football on the global stage.
