Rabat – South Africa manager Hugo Broos announced the official lineup that will participate in the AFCON qualifier matchup on Saturday, June 17.

The final South Africa squad includes several familiar names, including Mamelo Sundowns goalkeeper  Ronwen Williams, as well as  SuperSport United’s Ricardo Gross.

In the defensive line, Broos called up Sydney Mobbie from Sekhukhune United, as well as four Mamelodi Sundowns players, including Thapelo Morena, Aubrey Modiba, Grant Kekana, and Mathobi Mvala.

In the midfield, South Africa boasts Luke Le Roux from Varbergs BoIS on t along with Mamelodi Sundowns’ Teboho Mokena, as well as Bathusi Aubass from TS Galaxy, and Njabulo Blom from Saint Louis.

Forwards called up to play against the Atlas Lions include Themba Zwane and Cassius Mailula from Mamelodi Sundowns, as well as Al Ahly’s star Percy Tau.

Broos is determined to beat the World Cup semi-finalists, stressing that if players are not motivated to play a team like Morocco “I think it’s better you go home.”

“I should not be pleased if I have to motivate the players to play against Morocco – then there’s a big problem,” he said.

Describing the showdown with Morocco as a big game, Broos stressed that it’s interesting to play against the World Cup semifinalists.

“It’s interesting to see Morocco, but also to see what the guys of Bafana can do. And that must be enough to motivate the players to play in this game,” he added.

Morocco’s national team is also ready for the matchup against South Africa.

On May 26, Morocco’s head coach Walid Regragui announced the lineups for the upcoming games against Cape Verde and South Africa.

Morocco will play a friendly match against Cape Verde prior to its AFCON qualifier match against South Africa’s  Bafana Banafa.

The game will take place in the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium on June 12 at 8 p.m.

Regragui chose an A-list squad for the two games, including Yassine Bounouu, Munir El Kajoui, Achraf Hakimi, Sofyan Amrabat, Hakim Ziyech,  and Zakaria Aboukhlal.
