Rabat – Haiti striker Wilson Isidor expressed pride in his team’s performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, saying the tournament marked the beginning of a promising future for Haitian football, despite their elimination in the group stage.

Isidor was on the scoresheet in Haiti’s 4-2 defeat to Morocco on Wednesday in the final Group C match.

Speaking after the game, the forward highlighted Haiti’s competitiveness against some of the world’s strongest teams.

“We went toe-to-toe with Scotland and held Brazil scoreless for 45 minutes, and today we stayed in the game for 70 minutes against Morocco, who are ranked sixth in the world. That should not be forgotten,” Isidor said.

The Haitian international believes those performances reflect the progress the national team has made, even though it failed to advance to the knockout stage.

According to Isidor, Haiti showed it could compete with top-level opponents and left the tournament with valuable experience.

“We have a very talented generation, and we are only at the beginning of our journey,” he said.

“We came into this tournament with several players who joined the national team recently, and I am one of them. I also want to congratulate the players who helped Haiti qualify for the World Cup.”

Isidor ended his remarks on an optimistic note, insisting Haiti has the quality to achieve better results in the future if the team continues to grow with the same determination and ambition shown throughout the tournament.
