Rabat – Issame Charai, coach of the Moroccan national football team, spoke today about the readiness of the national squad to face the Ghanaian national team on June 27 at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium in Rabat.
This game is part of the group stage’s second round in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON), which is also a qualifier for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Following his team’s 2-1 win against Guinea in the first group match , Issam Charai said that he is expecting the Moroccan public to storm the Prince Moulay Abdallah stadium in Rabat to support Morocco against the Ghanaian national team.
“The fans will play a big role in this match. They have to encourage the players from the beginning. The fans can make a difference,” Charai highlighted at the press conference ahead of Morocco’s second match.
“We will focus on limiting the speed of the Ghanaian national team players, especially at the peripheral level. I know the Ghanaian team’s weakness,” he explained.
“We prepared well for this match. We are well aware of the Ghanaian team’s strength, which relies on attack.”
The Moroccan national team won 2-1 in its first match against its Guinean counterpart, while the Ghanaian team won 3-2 against Congo.
As the coach of the host nation, Charai appears determined to win this continental tournament. The Moroccan coach said prior to the kick-off of the tournament that “the Federation has put us in excellent conditions in view of this tournament and we must represent the country well. We must not make mistakes.”
