Rabat – Judicial police in the southern Moroccan city of Laayoune arrested on Sunday evening two individuals aged 19 and 21 suspected of being involved in a case of child abduction, confinement, and failure to report a crime.
The suspects were arrested after one of them allegedly abducted a 13-year-old minor girl and confined her in his car, where he subjected her to violence, the Moroccan news agency (MAP) quoted a security source as saying.
The incident took place in the presence of the second suspect, who failed to report the crime.
Shockingly, these criminal acts were filmed and the video footage was posted on various social media platforms.
The two suspects have been placed in police custody, as the investigation is now under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
The security source assured that authorities are committed to fully uncovering the details of the case and determining the motives behind the suspects’ acts.
The news of the appalling incident has shaken the local community, who were shocked to see the graphic and harmful content involving the teenage girl.
But they were relieved to learn that the suspects were arrested, and they have since been calling for justice to be served and hoping that the perpetrators will be held accountable for their actions.
