Rabat – Morocco’s Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family, Aawatif Hayar, has raised the curtain on a series of trailblazing initiatives aimed at fostering social and economic inclusion for women with disabilities across the country.

Minister Hayar took centre stage on Thursday before the House of Councillors, the upper chamber of the Moroccan parliament, to present a series of groundbreaking programs.

In her speech, Minister Hayar underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to advancing the rights and opportunities of vulnerable populations, particularly women with disabilities. Her presentation highlighted the pressing need to create an inclusive and supportive society that recognizes the immense potential and contributions of these individuals.

One of the focal points of the Minister’s initiatives is the promotion of women’s active participation in the development process. Hayar emphasized that gender equality and female empowerment are essential pillars in building a progressive and equitable nation.

By providing women with disabilities the necessary tools and opportunities to thrive, she argued, Morocco can tap into an often underutilized pool of talent and expertise.

In addition the minister unveiled a comprehensive support system that aims to enhance the social and economic integration of people with disabilities across the country.

The programs encompass a wide range of initiatives, including education, vocational training, healthcare access, and employment opportunities tailored to meet the specific needs of this diverse group.

The presentation by Minister Aawatif Hayar in the House of Councillors has garnered widespread acclaim from both her colleagues and the general public.

Many have described the minister’s comments as symbolizing a significant step towards building an inclusive society that champions the rights and opportunities of all its citizens, regardless of their abilities or gender.
