Rabat – King Mohammed VI has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the members of the Moroccan national basketball team on their recent triumph in the “AfroCan 2023” tournament held in Angola.

The championship marked a significant milestone for Moroccan basketball as the team defeated Cote d’Ivoire with a 78-76 score in an outstanding display of talent and resilience.

In a message addressed to the team, the king commended their remarkable achievement, describing it as an “honorable African recognition of Moroccan basketball.”

The monarch praised the collective efforts of all those who contributed to the team’s success, including the players, coaches, and the technical, medical, and administrative staff.

In addition, he lauded the sportsmanship and spirit of competitiveness that the Moroccan squad demonstrated throughout the stages of the African championship, saying that these qualities enabled the team to secure the continental title.
