Rabat – Currently on tour in Japan with Paris Saint-Germain, Achraf Hakimi talked this week about the start of pre-season, the new era at the French club, and the arrival of new coach Luis Enrique.
Achraf Hakimi is reportedly “happy” to be starting a new season with Paris Saint-Germain and has high ambitions.
The Moroccan right-back was delighted with the warm welcome he received in the Asian country and expressed the pleasure of being there once again.
“It’s great to be here for another summer. Last year, we discovered how much people here love soccer and PSG. We met a lot of PSG fans, and there are even more of them this year,” Hakimi told the PSG channel in an interview.
“We will try to return the favor in the best possible way and let them enjoy this experience. We know this is a unique opportunity for them,” he added.
He went on explaining that “our first objective in coming here is preparation, finding our best possible rhythm, and training hard, especially with the new players who have arrived, to adapt them to the group.”
Talking about the arrival of the new coach, Hakimi said “we have to know the first ideas he wants to put in place and prepare well for the season, which I hope will be a great one.”
Also regarding the arrival of the new coach, the former Real Madrid player gave his opinion addressing the Spanish manager’s vision, who he believes will help the team achieve a good season.
When asked whether he felt any change at the arrival of the new coach, the right back answered positively and said that “the whole team and I will try to adapt as much as possible and as quickly as possible to the ideas that the coach wants to put in place,” Hakimi asserted.
Towards the end of the interview, Hakimi shed light on the next objective, which is being ready for League 1 championship, but also for the entire season which he believes will be exciting.
After the conclusion of their current tour in Osaka and Tokyo, Hakimi and his team will fly to the South Korean city Busan “to discover other fans and receive their love and support.”
