Rabat – Rachid Talbi El Alami, Speaker of the House of Representatives, represented King Mohammed VI at the grand inauguration ceremony of Paraguay’s newly elected President, Santiago Pena. The ceremony took place on Tuesday at the historic Lopez Palace, nestled in the heart of Asuncion, the Paraguayan capital.
Dignitaries and statesmen from across the region graced the occasion, underscoring the importance of the event for both Paraguay and its neighboring nations.
The guest list boasted a remarkable array of heads of state, including Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Argentine President Alberto Fernandez, Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Po, and Chilean President Gabriel Boric. Notably, King Felipe VI of Spain also attended, along with representatives from approximately 90 countries, reflecting the global significance of President Pena’s inauguration.
As Rachid Talbi El Alami assumed his role at the ceremony, he was joined byMorocco’s Ambassador in Asuncion, Badreddine Abdelmoumni. Their presence reinforced Morocco’s commitment to strengthening ties with Paraguay and contributing to the global discourse on cooperation and partnership.
King Mohammed VI extended warm congratulations to President Santiago Pena upon his successful election as the leader of the Republic of Paraguay.
