Rabat – The President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FMRF), Fouzi Lekjaa, warmly welcomed the national women’s football team on Thursday upon their return from the 2023 Women’s World Cup. The team had accomplished a remarkable feat, securing their spot in the second round of the tournament in their debut appearance at the World Cup.

Beyond the celebratory atmosphere, Lekjaa delivered an address at the reception, during which he promised to elevate and develop women’s football to unprecedented heights.

“Following a few days of rest, we will work on programs to continue the advancement of women’s football. This will involve a comprehensive transformation in the training of younger age groups, specifically those under the age of 15, 16, and 17,” Lekjaa pledged.

The reception, organized by FRMF, took place at the Mohammed VI Complex and was dedicated to honoring the achievements of the Atlas Lionesses.

Lekjaa highlighted the significance of the team’s accomplishments in the Women’s World Cup, describing it as a “momentous event in the history of football.” He emphasized that this achievement contributes to the development of women’s football, which King Mohammed VI is committed to.
