Rabat – Al Hilal fans will have to wait a while before seeing the Brazilian star in their team’s jersey. According to medical reports from the Saudi club, Neymar is suffering from two injuries to his right quadriceps, both in the rectus femoris muscle.
One of the injuries is expected to be treated quickly. However, the other one is expected to take a month to recover.
As the Brazilian superstar arrived at Riadh with a physical problem, he will be unavailable to play for a month.
According to media reports, Neymar will “have to undergo further tests on Thursday” and will only be available in the game against Damac FC on September 20.
Neymar is to date the most expensive signing for the Saudi league ever, with his transfer from PSG to Al Hilal costing 90 million euros plus add-ons.
“Neymar is an innovative and creative player, and he will help us to improve, but he has a slight injury now and I don’t know when he will return. Maybe he will be ready in mid-September,” said Al Hilal’s head coach Jorge Jesus.
Jesus also stated that he was surprised when the Brazilian was included in the national team’s squad for its upcoming games.
“I don’t know how the Brazilian national team (could have) called him, he is not ready,” added Al Hilal’s head coach.
Fans are now eagerly waiting for the former FC Barcelona and PSG player to make his debut with Al Zaeem and see him deliver the top-level performances he is used to.
