Rabat – Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange-level weather alert warning of a heatwave expected to affect several parts of the country from Monday through Wednesday.

According to the meteorological agency, temperatures are forecast to range between 41°C and 44°C in a number of provinces and prefectures, including Errachidia, Zagora, Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Boujdour, Oued Ed-Dahab, and Aousserd.

The weather alert comes as hot air masses continue to impact southern and southeastern regions of the country, bringing unusually high temperatures for several consecutive days.

Morocco has experienced recurring heatwaves in recent weeks, with temperatures rising sharply on and off across many parts of the country. Inland areas have been particularly affected, often recording extremely high temperatures well above seasonal averages.

Authorities have advised residents in affected regions to take precautions, stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during the hottest hours of the day, and follow weather updates issued by the national meteorological service.
