Rabat – Moroccan athlete Abdelati El Guesse has advanced to the semifinals of the 800m event at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Budapest.

The highly anticipated race took place on Tuesday, captivating spectators with its intense competition and El Guesse’s impressive performance. The Moroccan athlete showcased his exceptional skills and endurance, positioning himself as a strong contender for the title, Moroccan state media reported.

El Guesse’s journey to the semifinals began with a commendable performance in the preliminary heats. His strategic pacing and swift acceleration in the final stretch allowed him to secure a position in the 800m semifinals.

The Moroccan athlete’s victory also highlighted the dedication and hard work put in by his coaches, support staff, and the entire team. Their meticulous planning and guidance played a significant role in El Guesse’s impressive performance on the track.

This is the third win for Moroccan athletes at the World Athletics Championship. 

On Tuesday, Nour Ennadi soared through the World Athletic Championship securing a well-deserved spot in the semifinals of the 400m hurdles event. Meanwhile, Soufiane El Bakkali won the 3,000m steeplechase for the second year in a row at the World Athletics Championships 

As the World Athletics Championships in Budapest continue to be a platform for athletes to showcase their talents and strive for excellence, El Guesse’s journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes and a source of pride for Morocco.
