FC Barcelona considers Clement Lenglet to be surplus to requirements and has given the player an option to leave the club on loan. But for now, Lenglet has not accepted this offer.
The Spanish club is in a hurry to solve Lenglet’s situation, partly to lower their wage expenses. This is why, even if they do not get a club interested in paying a substantial fee for a permanent transfer, they have suggested being open to the idea of loaning the center-back.
This way, the Spanish club can save the money they would have had to pay for the player’s salary.
Recently, the French team Olympique Lyonnais (OL) has shown its interest in Lenglet. They want to know the situation of his contract.
Should FC Barcelona manage to send Lenglet off to another team without receiving a transfer fee, they want a share of any future money if the player is sold in the next three seasons. It is not what Barcelona wants the most, but it would help save some of the money they need to pay him.
Another option the club is exploring is to sell Lenglet to any interested suitor, even if the transfer fee does not necessarily meet their asking price.
Sevilla FC, a usually highly respected team that has been grappling with a tough start to the season in La Liga, Spain’s top-tier football league, is also interested in Lenglet to improve their defensive line. The club is considering signing Clement Lenglet who has played for them before, back in the 2017-18 season.
Lenglet won all titles on offer in Spanish football during the time he spent with the Blaugrana – La Liga, Copa Del Rey, and Supercopa.
