Rabat – With the international break over and elite European leagues having marked their return over the weekend, the most elite European football is back this week with the UEFA Champions League set to kick off on Tuesday, September 19.
Football fans will be excited to know that there are 16 European football matches this week as part of the first round of the UEFA Champions League’s group stage.
Football pundits have argued that Group F will be the hardest group to crack. The group consists of PSG, Dortmund, AC Milan, and Newcastle.
The tournament is set to kick off with a lively game between Newcastle and AC Milan on Tuesday evening. Whilst Newcastle have been absent from the tournament for over a decade, their recent success will make them a fiery opponent for Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan.
Tuesday will also see Harry Kane’s Champions League debut with Bayern Munich against Champions League veterans Manchester United.
There are some Moroccan players sprinkled across the groups. Hakim Ziyech could be making his Champions League debut with Galatasaray this week. Others include PSG’s Achraf Hakimi, Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri, and Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui.
Sofyan Amrabat, who recently transferred to Manchester United, missed Morocco’s friendly against Burkina Faso due to injury, but is set to be fit for this much-anticipated return of elite European football.
