Rabat – Pop icon Madonna has expressed her solidarity with Morocco following the tragic earthquake that hit the Al Haouz region last week.

Taking to Instagram, Madonna shared her heartfelt connection with the country and announced her contribution to the charity Human Appeal to aid in the urgent on-the-ground relief efforts in the affected regions.

Madonna expressed her love for Morocco and her fond memories of the country.

“Morocco holds a special place in my heart, and the country has now experienced its most devastating earthquake in over 60 years,” she said.

The singer urged her followers and fans to join her in making a difference by donating to relief efforts to assist the affected communities.

Madonna also took a moment to reminisce about the precious memories she has made during her visits to the country. Her deep connection to Morocco was palpable as she had often expressed her appreciation for the rich and diverse culture Morocco had to offer.

“I will never forget the beautiful moments I shared with friends and family over the years in Morocco! A beautiful and Magical Place!” she said, calling on her fans to “help in any way you can.”

The tragic earthquake that hit central Morocco last week has left a trail of destruction and a profound impact on the lives and livelihoods of thousands of Moroccans.

The disaster has claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 people and injured over 5,000, according to the latest data from the Moroccan Ministry of Interior.

Since the tragedy, relief efforts have been ongoing to support the victims of the earthquake and rebuild the affected communities. Several international entities, including embassies and humanitarian organizations, have extended their support to the relief efforts.
