Rabat – Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is once again the subject of intense transfer speculation with Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad having reportedly tabled a jaw-dropping £215 million ($270 million) offer for the highly respected Egyptian winger, the British website The Sun reported on Tuesday.

This latest development has sent shockwaves through the footballing world, as officials from Al Ittihad have traveled to the United Kingdom in a last-ditch effort to secure the services of the 31-year-old forward. With the Saudi transfer window set to close on Thursday, the clock is ticking for a potential blockbuster move.

While The Sun did not reveal the sources behind their report, they disclosed that Salah has been presented with an enticing package, including a Saudi Pro League record salary of £2.45 million per week. The offer also reportedly includes a substantial percentage of shirt sales, a generous £55,000 win bonus, and ambassadorial roles with at least three major Saudi companies throughout the duration of his contract.

Liverpool FC has seemingly remained tight-lipped upon hearing of this astronomical bid, choosing not to comment on the report when approached. The Premier League club had previously rejected a sizable £189.6 million offer from Al Ittihad just last week.

Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s head coach, has been unequivocal about his stance on Salah’s potential departure. Following Liverpool’s impressive 3-0 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday, in which Salah found the net, Klopp stated that the club would not entertain any offers, regardless of the price tag, for their Egyptian talisman.

Mohamed Salah, who still has two years remaining on the contract extension he signed last year, has etched his name in Liverpool’s history books. Since joining the club in June 2017, he has notched an astounding 188 goals in 309 appearances, becoming an iconic figure on the field and a beloved figure off of it.

As the transfer window deadline rapidly approaches, the football world eagerly awaits a final decision from Liverpool regarding Salah’s future. The potential world-record transfer could mark a seismic shift in the landscape of football, with Al Ittihad aiming to secure the services of one of the game’s brightest stars.
