Rabat – Tibu Africa, a non-governmental organization, inaugurated on October 28 and 29 the School of Champions in the village of Titale in the Taroudant province to guarantee quality education for the local youth.
The initiative was launched on September 16 as a series of actions to benefit six douars that had been affected by the devastating September 8 earthquake in the province of Taroudant.
“Thanks to the involvement of our local collaborators, our organization has been rolling out programs focused on education and the inclusion of young people and women through sport in the province of Taroudant for several years,” said the NGO’s President Mohamed Amine Zariat.
“It was only natural for us to take action in this province affected by the September 8 earthquake,” the president added, stressing that since the initiative’s launch, a series of sustainable actions have been launched “for families and for the next generation.”
Tibu Africa and its partners collaborated with local residents, enabling them to channel the suffering caused by the disaster into constructive activities aimed at restoring educational activities.
In an effort to rehabilitate community schools, the NGO furnished classrooms and distributed school supplies to enable children to resume their education in a secure and safe setting.
In addition, the organization held a screening of the recent football match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in an effort to provide recreational activities to the youth of the region..
The NGO is also allowing residents to benefit from professional healthcare services to help with any lingering effects from the natural disaster.
The initiative stated on their Instagram account that they “will be back in early January 2024 to launch a social innovation space reserved for village youth and women.”
