Rabat – Thousands of Iranians and Iraqis took to the streets of their respective capitals, Tehran and Baghdad on Firday, in a powerful display of support for the Palestinian people.
Demonstrators rallied, waving flags and banners that conveyed their condemnation of the US and Israel.
In Tehran, the streets echoed with the resounding voice of solidarity as thousands of Iranians marched through the city.The protesters also raised banners that bore slogans such as “Down with America” and “Down with Israel,” according to AFP.

The display was a strong statement of backing for the Palestinian cause.
The rallies extended beyond Iran’s borders as well. Across Iraq, in Baghdad, protesters filled the streets in a remarkable outpouring of support for the Palestinians. The focal point of the demonstration was Tahrir Square, where thousands gathered in response to a call by the populist Shia leader, Muqtada al-Sadr. He had called for a massive demonstration “in support of Gaza” and in opposition to Israel, AFP news agency reported.

“No to the occupation. No to America,” were among the chants demonstrators used during the protests to show their unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.

This outpouring of solidarity was not confined to Iran and Iraq alone. Similar rallies were organized in various cities across Iraq and Jordan, with additional demonstrations anticipated in countries such as Pakistan,Syria, and Lebanon later in the day.

As tensions continue to escalate in the region, these widespread rallies reflect the deep-seated support and concern for the Palestinian people across the Middle East. The international community continues to closely watch the situation, as the voices of support for the Palestinians resonate far and wide.
