Rabat – The Palestinian armed group Hamas initiated a fierce attack on Israel, resulting in the tragic deaths of at least 22 Israelis and leaving hundreds wounded.

Egypt, a key regional player, has issued a stern warning regarding the alarming escalation in tensions. The Egyptian foreign ministry’s statement, carried by the state news agency, cautioned of “grave consequences” if the situation continues to deteriorate.

Egypt has called upon all parties involved to exercise “maximum restraint” and emphasized the importance of avoiding actions that could further endanger civilians.

Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also weighed in on the situation, urging all parties to exercise restraint and refrain from impulsive actions that could escalate the already volatile situation.

Speaking at his ruling party congress in Ankara, President Erdogan emphasized the need to protect the “historical and religious status” of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem, emphasizing the importance of its preservation.

Saudi Arabia, a country that has been engaged in negotiations with Israel regarding the normalization of relations, has expressed deep concern over the escalating violence between Israeli forces and Palestinian factions. The Saudi foreign ministry issued a statement calling for an “immediate cessation of violence” in the region.

The state news agency quoted the ministry, saying: “We are closely monitoring the unprecedented developments involving several Palestinian factions and Israeli occupation forces, which have resulted in a significant escalation of violence on multiple fronts.”

In a strongly worded statement, Qatar’s foreign ministry was adamant that Israel bears sole responsibility for the relentless surge in hostilities endured by the Palestinian populace.

Qatar urged both parties to exercise maximum restraint. At the same time, the Gulf country urged the international community to take decisive action to prevent Israel from using these circumstances as a pretext to launch an unbalanced conflict against the innocent Palestinian people of Gaza.

The international community now watches with growing concern as tensions in the region continue to escalate.
