Rabat – The Moroccan national kickboxing team claimed a remarkable tally of ten medals at the recently held World Championships. These victories, which included four gold, three silver, and three bronze medals, showcased Morocco’s prowess in the world of combat sports.
The Royal Moroccan Federation of Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Savate, and related sports proudly announced the outstanding achievements of the national team. The four coveted gold medals were secured by Kalthoum Akhlouf, Salma Jabour, Toulaoui Soumia, and Khaoula Daakali, each of them delivering a sterling performance.
Kalthoum Akhlouf, competing in the -48 kg weight category, demonstrated her sheer dominance by clinching gold after a resounding victory against Austria’s Kinkso Olaha, with a final score of 30 to 27. Equally impressive was Salma Jabour, competing in the -54 kg division, who prevailed against Thailand’s Tanita Blingit in a fiercely contested final, with a score of 29 to 28.
Toulaoui Soumia, competing in the -71 kg category, left her mark on the championship by narrowly defeating Vietnam’s Lingo Khan with a score of 29 to 28. Khaoula Daakali, competing in the -75 kg division, showcased her exceptional talent by emerging victorious against Tunisia’s Chaimaa Soudani, with a final score of 30 to 27.
The Moroccan team’s three silver medals were clinched by Amine Chtioui (-51 kg), Ayoub Attoudane (-48 kg), and Ali El Ayoubi (+91 kg), while the trio of bronze medals went to Mohamed Yassine Mahsoun (-67 kg), Barhan Jaouaher (-60 kg), and Yahya El Mersi (-57 kg).

The World Championships saw fierce competition, with Morocco securing the top spot with their ten medals. Thailand, with four gold, two silver, and one bronze, claimed second place, and Ukraine secured third place with a total of three gold, three silver, and one bronze medal.
The technical expertise behind the Moroccan national team’s triumph was provided by dedicated national coaches Lahcen Wassou, Mostapha Qotbi, and Othman El Ouahabi. Their guidance and unwavering support played a crucial role in the team’s outstanding performance on the global stage.
