Rabat – The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) revealed today its new “Forever Marrakech” campaign to honor the city’s timeless beauty and invite visitors worldwide to experience its charm firsthand.

“As long as the sun rises, Marrakech will shine,” is the slogan of the campaign, which the ONMT unveiled during the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Marrakech.

The successful hosting of the event, which brought together around 14,000 people from over 150 countries, proves that the Red City is capable of welcoming large numbers of travelers from around the world, said ONMT in a press release.

The statement added that the presence of this international audience at the event provided the perfect opportunity to launch the campaign.

The launch of what ONMT described as an “emotionally charged” campaign included the screening of a short film “Forever Marrakech,” which was warmly received by the participants at the annual meetings, according to the statement.

The film captured the essence and beauty of Marrakech, featuring the city’s appeal, including art galleries, local craftsmanship, and tourist destinations.

In addition, the ONMT introduced a new graphic identity symbolizing the rising sun that “will continue to illuminate the city infinitely.”

The campaign is set to launch soon in key international markets, including France, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

As it comes in the wake of the earthquake that hit central Morocco last month, the campaign carries a message of reassurance to travelers wishing to visit Morocco.

It aims to highlight the resilience of Marrakech, and the whole of Morocco by extension, despite the tragedy, as well as assure that Marrakech remains ready and fully prepared to welcome tourists.

Morocco’s Minister of Tourism Fatim-Zahra Ammor paid a visit to the old Medina of Marrakech shortly after the earthquake hit. She lauded the city’s resilience and stressed that tourism activities have resumed.

“The Medina remains as charming as ever, life has returned to normal, and tourists are strolling the streets of the ochre city,” she said.
