Rabat – On this Wednesday, November 22, Kamal Adwan Hospital is a grim witness to the intensification of Israeli aggression in Gaza, described by its Director Ahmed al-Kahlout as nothing short of “catastrophic.”

The hospital, situated between Wadi Gaza and northern Gaza, now operates as the sole medical lifeline for countless Palestinians amidst the relentless shelling and bombardment, turning the facility into a harrowing symbol of the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

Ahmed al-Kahlout, speaking to Al Jazeera, revealed the dire circumstances surrounding the hospital. He reported that “a lot of buildings have been badly affected. We need to keep in mind this hospital is now only one operating hospital from Wadi Gaza till the northern Gaza.”

The gravity of the situation became even more apparent as he disclosed that the medical teams, tirelessly working to save lives, are operating in darkness, using handheld searchlights due to a lack of fuel.

Highlighting the magnitude of the crisis, al-Kahlout informed the media that since last night the hospital had received more than 60 casualties and tended to over 1,000 wounded individuals.

“Non-surgery practicing doctors were forced to perform c-sections on pregnant women and amputate limbs due to a lack of surgeons,” he added, underscoring the desperate measures taken to address the overwhelming medical needs.

The haunting scenes at Kamal Adwan Hospital reveal the human toll of the conflict, with bodies strewn across the courtyard.

Parents, devastated and grief-stricken, gather to identify their children, a painful testament to the brutality of the attacks.

A voice responsible for handling the bodies condemned the violence, stating, “The occupation claims humanity, yet it kills children and women, without mercy and pity. They are tender with birds and cats, but not children,” as reported by Al Jazeera.

As Israeli attacks persist despite the announcement of an upcoming cease-fire, the Palestinian authorities report over 14,100 casualties, intensifying international concerns about the ongoing air and ground assault that began on October 7.
