Rabat – Morocco’s Under-17 National Football Team will play against Indonesia on Thursday in Matchday 3 of the U17 World Cup’s group stage.
The game will kick off at 1:00 pm GMT+1 at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya, Indonesia.
The match will be broadcast live on Moroccan sports channel Arryadia TV, as well as on the FIFA+ website and on the Fox Soccer Plus channel.
The tournament’s draw has placed Morocco in Group A alongside host Indonesia, Ecuador, and Panama.
The Atlas Lions emerged victorious in their opening game against Panama last week, with a 2-0 victory.
Commenting on the win, the team’s coach Said Chiba said that the Atlas Lions displayed a strong performance despite not being as used to the atmosphere as Panama.
“We showed that we are strongly present. We just need to adapt to this atmosphere and work to deal intelligently with the match,” Chiba said.
However, the Moroccan team sustained a 2-0 loss against Ecuador, which is the favorite to win the ongoing competition.
Despite the setback, the team is looking to achieve positive results in tomorrow’s match and secure a spot in the tournament’s knockout stage.
Ecuador is currently leading Group A’s standings with four points, while Morocco follows in the second spot with three points.
Meanwhile, Indonesia is in third place with two points after its games against Ecuador and Panama ended in 1-1 draws.
