Hezbollah Leader Says Regional War Is a ‘Realistic Possibility’

Rabat – Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement, has described the ongoing situation in Gaza as a “decisive battle,” stressing that a regional war was a “realistic possibility.”

Speaking for the first time since the October 7 Al-Aqsa Storm attack, Nasrallah mourned the lost lives in both Palestine and Lebanon and said that ensuring Hamas’ victory against Israel was his group’s top priority.

He also stressed that none of the other factions that make up the Iran-led “Axis of Resistance” against Israel were informed of the October 7 attack, which he insisted was carried out solely and secretly by Hamas.

Following the Hamas operation, Israel launched a disproportionate response targeting civilians in the Gaza Strip and West Bank. So far, the occupation forces’ attacks have killed over 9,000 Palestinians, including 3,000 children.

“Those who ask for Hezbollah to enter a full battle with the enemy will find what is done so far modest,” he added, claiming that Hezbollah’s attacks have forced a third of Israel’s army and half of its navy to be directed northwards instead of towards Gaza.

He warned that Israel would be committing “the biggest foolishness” of its history if it attempts to conduct any major operations on Lebanon.

The leader additionally issues a warning to international powers such as the US, describing Israel as “more fragile than a spider’s web.”

“The end of this battle will be Gaza’s victory, and the defeat of this enemy,” he addressed the US, saying that its soldiers and interests would be the biggest victims of a regional war.

As Israel’s aggression against Palestinian civilians continues, the violence threatens to spread to Lebanon and other surrounding regions.

Over the past week, the Houthis in Yemen have also declared war against Israel, and Bahrain cut economic ties with Tel Aviv on Thursday.
