Rabat – In a diplomatic gesture meant to reinforce the much-improved relationsMorocco and Spain, King Mohammed VI conveyed today a message of congratulations and well-wishes to Pedro Sanchez on his reappointment as the Prime Minister of Spain.

Expressing genuine felicitations, King Mohammed VI expressed his sincere hopes for the Spanish people’s continued progress and prosperity under Sanchez’s leadership.

In addition, the monarch commended Sanchez for securing renewed trust from the Spanish Parliament and reaffirmed Morocco’s unwavering commitment to collaborating with Spain to strengthen their already robust bilateral friendship.

Highlighting the strategic partnership characterized by “good neighborliness, mutual trust, and ongoing constructive dialogue,” King Mohammed VI underscored the importance of forging further ahead in fostering strong ties between Morocco and Spain.

The King also spoke emphatically of the need for Madrid and Rabat to commit to aligning their perspectives on various regional and international matters of mutual interest.

Such an alignment, rooted in the rich civilizational and cultural heritage shared by the two friendly peoples, could be a crucial contribution to preserving peace, stability, and prosperity in the Euro-Mediterranean region, the monarch suggested.

This royal message comes as Spain and Morocco appear to have put behind decades of turbulent relations to “open a new page” of reciprocity and honest dialogue on a wide range of strategic issues.

Since then, the two countries have notably bolstered their bilateral relationship in all sectors, notably bilateral trade as well as security and cultural cooperation.

As Spain embarks on a new political chapter under Prime Minister Sanchez’s leadership, King Mohammed VI’s message signals a commitment to fostering amicable ties and collaborative efforts between Morocco and Spain, offering a positive outlook for the future of their diplomatic relations.
