Rabat – Morocco’s red city of Marrakech is set to host the 34th International Congress on Occupational Health (ICOH 2024).

The event is organized by the Moroccan Occupational Health Association (MOHA) and the University Hassan II Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy’s Work Health Unit, in collaboration with the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH).

ICOH 2024 is poised to bring together international minds and expertise, addressing the theme “Improving Research and Practices in Occupational Health. Bridging the Gaps!” from April 28 to May 3, 2024, at the Marrakech Congress Palace.

The event, with over 2,500 participants including business professionals, researchers, academics, policymakers, and international representatives will serve as a pivotal platform for discussions, idea exchange, and sharing best practices to advance research, policies, and interventions.

The ICOH, established in 1906 and recognized as a United Nations NGO, maintains close ties with the International Labour Organization and the World Health Organization. With approximately 2,000 members spanning 100 countries, the ICOH is the oldest scientific association dedicated to occupational health and safety.

“This edition of ICOH holds particular significance for Morocco, aligning with Royal Guidelines on universal social protection, the overhaul of the national healthcare system, and the remarkable development of health and safety at work over the past two decades,” stated Professor Abdeljalil El Kholti, President of ICOH 2024.

The six-day program boasts over 1,800 scientific contributions from 88 countries, symbolizing the anticipated diversity and depth of insights.

Professor Seong Kyu Kang, ICOH President, expressed enthusiasm, saying, “ICOH 2024 is a unique opportunity to gather experts worldwide to share knowledge and experiences. We look forward to collaborating with our Moroccan colleagues to promote best practices in occupational health, contributing to a safer and healthier professional future for all.”
